Reach your full potential. Advanced power skating and skills training through proven on-ice equipment and methodology — in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
At Paragon Hockey, development isn't left to chance. Every session is engineered for rapid skill acquisition — high-rep, high-tempo, reaction-driven work that forces players to handle the puck through traffic, react under pressure, and make decisions at game speed.
And it doesn't stop at skills. Paragon Hockey delivers top-tier power skating built on Diane Ness's ProEdge Power framework — the system led by the skating and skills coaches of the Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders.
It all connects. Nick coaches through the lens of USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) — age-appropriate, station-based, high-rep development — layered with the ProEdge Power skating framework and a proven skills methodology. Three disciplines, one complete training perspective.
Our sessions target the edges, angles, and reflexes that separate good players from dominant ones. That's Rapid Skills Acquisition and Deployment.
Whether your player is lacing up for their first travel season or grinding toward collegiate hockey, they'll leave every session with sharper hands, a more powerful stride, quicker feet, and a faster hockey brain.
Nick's hockey story starts the way most Minnesota stories do — on the ice early. Skating at two and playing at four, he came up through one of the most competitive youth systems in the country, earning selections to the Junior North Stars, Minnesota Selects, and Team Minnesota. Division 1 programs — including the Air Force Academy, Bemidji State, and Minnesota State Mankato — were recruiting him when a career-ending knee injury changed the path.
Coaching became the way to give back. A former student of Diane Ness, Nick now brings her renowned power skating framework — alongside USA Hockey's American Development Model and a proven skills methodology — to youth players across the Inland Northwest.
Our core method: high-rep pattern work that forces quick edge transitions, evasive maneuvering, and direction changes without losing speed — training the body to react before the brain has to think.
Precise puck placement and control in tight, quick-reaction spaces. High-rep work through on-ice resistance trainers builds hands that hold up in puck battles and 1-on-1s.
Regain control instantly after countering — evasive maneuvers, loose-puck recovery, and edge control that stays sharp under fatigue and contact.
Reflex-driven drills that compress read-and-react time. Faster transitions, quicker first steps, and a real competitive advantage in open ice.
Elite power skating built on Diane Ness's ProEdge Power framework — the same system taught by skating and skills coaches for the Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders. Stride mechanics, edge control, explosive starts, and top-end speed.
